“I give up on you,” she says. “No one’s let me down like this before.”
He stares at her, but doesn’t make a sound. He’s accepting it. Because it’s true.
She continues.
“You don’t know what it’s like — waiting, hoping for a change that’s never going to come. You failed me. You failed us.”
He looks down.
“Look at me,” she says.
He looks at her.
“I’m done.”
